Our Kongo River Sunset Cruise offers a peaceful, eco-friendly journey through lush mangrove forests and ancient landscapes, culminating in a sunset view that many travelers call "the best in Kenya." -  because it is!

To protect the marine life, the Kenya Wildlife Service mandates that no motorized boats are allowed along on the river. You’ll glide silently through the water with your captain, Amani, pushing your canoe curved out of "Muembe", single solid mango tree trunk, using a wooden pole, hearing only the gentle lap of the river and the calls of local wildlife.

The Itinerary

• Late Afternoon Pickup: We collect you from your accommodation to arrive at the river as the heat of the day begins to fade. Please leave a note of your location to arrange pickup using a tuktuk (rickshaw)
• The Cruise: Board your non-motorized canoe for a slow, upstream sail through winding mangrove channels.
• Optional Beach Wind-down: Enjoy a quiet moment on the beach or a drink at the nearby Estuary lounge before your return transfer.
